The Wide-Mouthed Frog
The Wide-Mouthed Frog is a short and funny pop-up book we published with Bloomsbury in 2009. Collaborating with the brilliant Michael Terry—whose whimsical illustrations were the perfect counterpart to our paper engineering—we produced a pop-up rendition of the well-known joke. The frog’s wide-mouth makes a hole, which goes all the way through the book. Furthermore, there is a pop-up punchline on the final page!

A wide-mouthed frog cheerily asks all the animals what they would like to eat – until he comes across a rather sinister crocodile with a very specific taste in frogs …This book, with a clever cut-through and surprise final spread, is based on the classic joke of the wide-mouthed frog – but it works whether you know the joke or not! It is sure to amuse all young children.
